Happy birthday to the best mom in the world!
So lucky to be able to call myself your daughter. I am so grateful for your example to me and everything you do for our family.
I am so glad you and dad had such a wonderful weekend!
I love you so much!

Last summer Mariss was living in a ghetto bootleg place called Brownstone. One Sunday during Relief Society everyone was asked to describe their perfect date...so in a Hicken manner this was her response:

I just loved this.
“Patience is not passive resignation, nor is it failing to act because of our fears. Patience means active waiting and enduring. It means staying with something and doing all that we can—working, hoping, and exercising faith; bearing hardship with fortitude, even when the desires of our hearts are delayed. Patience is not simply enduring; it is enduring well!”
-Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “Continue in Patience,” Ensign, May 2010, 57
Happy Wednesday!
